15 Reasons To Not Ignore Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth it.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock each one you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the fountain in question you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. This is the same for the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't essential such as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket is used to express friendship or affection between family members.

In  item upgrades  to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other gear items that they won't replace soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players must also take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
